Privacy Policy

Overview

GogoAnime doesn't have accounts, so there's no profile, email, or password tied to you on our end. This policy covers the few places data does show up: what stays on your own device, what third-party ad and video providers may do, and what little we do see on our own servers.

What's Stored in Your Browser (Not on Our Servers)

The Site uses your browser's localStorage — never a server-side database tied to an identity — to remember:

• Your watchlist (titles you've saved)
• Playback progress per episode, so you can resume where you left off
• Player preferences, like whether auto-skip-intro is on
• Whether you've already seen the mobile menu hint

All of this lives only in the browser you're using and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data, using a different browser, or using private/incognito mode removes it. We have no way to see or recover it — it's not backed up anywhere by us.

Otaku 1v1 (Video Chat)

If you use the Otaku 1v1 feature, your browser asks for camera and microphone access. The call connects directly, peer-to-peer, between your browser and the other visitor's (WebRTC) — the video and audio itself never passes through or is stored on our servers. Our signaling server's only job is helping two visitors find each other and exchange the small technical handshake needed to connect; it relays that handshake and any text chat messages, and does not record or retain either.

Third-Party Video Servers

Episode playback is sourced from third-party servers we don't operate. Loading a stream from one of these sources may involve that provider's own cookies, logging, or data practices, which are outside our control and not covered by this policy. We'd encourage checking a provider's own privacy practices if you have concerns about a specific source.

Advertising & Cookies

The Site is supported by ads served through third-party advertising networks. These networks may set cookies or use device identifiers to serve ads and measure performance, which can include information like your approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, and general browsing behavior on the Site. We don't receive or store this data ourselves — it's collected and processed directly by the ad networks under their own privacy policies. You can typically opt out of personalized advertising through your browser's cookie settings or through industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page.

Server Logs

Like most web infrastructure, our hosting and content-delivery providers (including Cloudflare) automatically log basic technical request data — IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, and timestamp — for security, abuse prevention, and performance purposes. This is standard infrastructure-level logging, not something we query or use to build a profile of individual visitors.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact us and we'll address it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
